As well as parlour and bulk tank cleaners, Agroserve offers products to clean buildings, bottles, filters, reusable udder cloths and other sundry items around the farm:

  • Manual cleaning of milking equipment
  • Washing of reusable udder cloths
  • Peripheral equipment (filters, bottles, dishes and cooking utensils)

Best practice manual cleaning of milking equipment

In addition to cleaning the inside of milking equipment, it is important not to ignore the external surfaces. Bacteria is present in manure on clusters, long milk tubes and dip cups, and if left to build up can enable pathogens to be transferred to the teats during milking where they can cause infection. Milking clusters should be cleaned manually after each milking using a general purpose cleaner. Dip cups should be emptied and washed after each milking to help prevent the spread of contagious bacteria at milking time.

The walls and floors of the parlour, collecting area, exit race and handling facilities should be cleaned at least once a day and preferably after each use using a heavy duty detergent such as Blitze.

Washing of reusable udder cloths

Clinicloths must be washed in a washing machine after milking to ensure they are clean before they are used again. Cliniwash is a heavy duty detergent designed for this purpose, and is also effective when used for washing farm-soiled clothing.

Not forgetting the peripheral equipment…

The R&D department at Agroserve has designed a range of specialist cleaners to help dairy farmers with their all-important task of maintaining high standards throughout their dairy operation.

In-line milk filters should be cleaned on a daily basis using heavy duty sodium hydroxide to de-fat the filter. Usually a stock solution is made up by diluting Filtasol:1 litre of the product to 1 litre of water. The filter should be immersed overnight and rinsed with fresh water before use. The stock solution can be kept in a lidded container for up to 1 week.

For producer retailers…

After several requests Agroserve has developed a specialist bottle cleaning product for producer retailers. Testimonials from customers using this product have been excellent.

And even for the farmhouse…

Clinibrite is a dish-washing powder suitable for crockery, glassware, cutlery and cooking utensils.
